![]() ![]() Trebuchets & Bombard Cannons can also use this, but of course, this does leave them open to enemy Onager/Scorpion/Trebuchet fire. You can also Palisade Wall off the Onagers, which gives you time to kill off his Woad Raiders. ![]() One way to counter the other units is encourage your opponent to invest in only one counter (probably Paladins/Cavaliers due to cheaper cost than Onagers and the weakness of Halberdiers against any non-Cavalry bonus) and then once they've massed that counter enough, hammer them with you other options. Onagers are excellent counters because of their high attack, AoE damage and attack bonus versus siege. (Not much of a liability, anyway, against siege) Similarly, box formation can protect vulnerable (siege) units from cavalry/infantry and flank formation requires your opponent to attack on two fronts, which is much harder. Staggered formation makes massed siege much less effective, even if your army moves more slowly and takes up much more room. Disclaimer: I am not an expert at this game.
